We are so excited to have received Sophies official pictures for the Miss International competition!
Whilst in Tokyo for the Miss International Beauty Pageant, all delegates will take part in several photoshoots. Her headshot and swimsuit picture are released as her official introduction as a finalist. Doesn’t Sophie looks absolutely incredible?!
As part of the competition, Sophie also takes part in teh National Costume round. This is all about being creative with fashion and bringing your culture and home to the stage.
Sophie talks about her National Costume: “As the first Scottish delegate to represent the UK at Miss International in a decade, it was so important to me to share a piece of my culture and my upbringing with the world.
This costume honours our Flowers of Scotland – the thistle and the heather – our nation’s emblems of quiet strength.
It also pays tribute to the Redding Mining Disaster of 1923 in my home community, where 70 men lost their lives when the mine collapsed.
Today, thistles and heather bloom along the outer line of the former pit and are living symbols of renewal and hope.
This look salutes the women who carried the community forward during that period, a tribute to their quiet strength and the beauty that still blooms where sorrow once stood.”
What an incredibly important message behind a stunning ensemble.
