We have been LOVING getting all the updates for Sophie, our current Miss International UK, all the way from Tokyo, Japan. It looks like she is having the most amazing time, getting to experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. Take a look at what she has been up to…
Recently, Sophie and her fellow Miss International delegates visited Niigata and started their trip with a super glamorous evening reception. Doesn’t our girl look incredible in yellow?! She was even invited to sing at the event and shared a little bit of home by performing The Bonnie Banks o’ Loch Lomond, a traditional Scottish folk song. The President and Chairperson of the International Cultural Association, Ms. Akemi Shimomura, said she filled up with tears during her performance.
Their trip to Niigata was jam-packed with activities: trading beauty tips with the students at International Beauty Mode College; exploring the anime and manga library at Kaishi Professional University; witnessing mochi pounding; and taking in the beautiful autumnal sights with her new friends.
On this trip, the girls were accompanied by their chaperones, who have been singing Sophie’s praises! We didn’t expect anything less than everyone falling in love with her!
The 2025 Miss International delegates were warmly welcomed to visit Tokiwa Elementary School and left with full hearts. They toured the school, learned about notable Japanese figures from the students, played traditional games, shared stories, and enjoyed lunch together.
“The children ended the visit with the sweetest performance, and before we left, we wrote them little messages of encouragement. I included a line from my favourite childhood book Oh, The Places You’ll Go: ‘Kid, you’ll move mountains.’ It inspired me as a little girl and continues to today, so I hope it gives them the same wee spark of belief in themselves whenever they need it most,” Sophie reflects on the day.
Sophie attended the Gala Evening of the Ninth Annual International Women’s Entrepreneurs Forum, where treasures from home were auctioned for UNICEF. The evening celebrated women’s achievements, featured inspiring conversations, and concluded with a collective rendition of Children of the World, a meaningful reminder of the purpose behind the gathering.
This incredible experience is part of the Miss International UK prize package, amongst so many other goodies and opportunities! Do you want the chance to win this experience? Apply for Miss International UK now!
